About us
HealthTrain is the result of the collaborative efforts of experienced medical educators, multimedia eLearning developers and communication experts and has been developed independently in Tasmania by a regional training organisation General Practice Training Tasmania (GPTT). GPTT has been delivering exceptional and unique educational experiences to doctors for over ten years. During this time they have become renowned for our high quality, well organised and friendly general practice training.
The HealthTrain Team is passionate about the next generation of general practitioners gaining and applying high quality skills and knowledge in general practice that lead to great clinical outcomes and Fellowship. Our team is committed to using our extensive experience and knowledge to help you pass your RACGP exams.

Dr Marita Jones
Dr Marita Jones
Dr Marita Jones is a fellowed GP in Tasmania and has been working in medicine and teaching for eight years. Since joining the medical education team at General Practice Training Tasmania in 2017 she has focussed on preparing registrars for RACGP exams through focussing on the development of their clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning and exam skills. Marita is passionate about supporting a strong and diverse general practice work force that is equipped to care for Australian patients, doing this through teaching clinical reasoning and skills required to pass the RACGP exams. Through HealthTrain Marita enjoys giving personalised feedback and guidance on how to approach the Key Feature Problem exam and has completed her RACGP training to be a question writer. In clinical practice her interests include mental health, women’s health, complex chronic disease, paediatrics, skin cancer medicine, procedures and refugee health.
Tim Sumpton
Tim Sumpton
Tim brings to HealthTrain technological expertise tempered with a strong focus on the needs of the people who need to use it. Tim has been in Information Technology with a focus on end user support and systems management for over 17 years. Since joining GPTT 6 years ago, Tim has been involved in all aspects of ICT service delivery for the AGPT program support. He now provides his expertise to HealthTrain, with video conferencing, systems integration, and process streamlining. Tim believes in putting people first and supporting them with technology that is intuitive, easy to understand and even easier to use.
Dr Kate Beales
Dr Kate Beales
Dr Beales is passionate about supporting doctors in passing their RACGP exams. Kate has been working as a GP since 2007 in many different contexts including remote Australia, Melbourne and now Hobart. This well-rounded experience gives her a unique perspective on what it takes to be an effective and successful GP. Throughout Kate's training she has witnessed the challenges many registrars face trying to sit the RACGP exams, often with minimal support to understand what is required. This has driven her to help others develop the skills required to face their exams with confidence. And to offer quality, evidence-based care that is flexible and focused on individual patient needs and circumstances.
Dr Mary Forsyth
Dr Mary Forsyth
Dr Forsyth is enthusiastic about seeing candidates across Australia better understand the RACGP exams through the HealthTrain program. She graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2011, attained her fellowship with the RACGP in 2015 and has worked as a GP in practices across Melbourne, Warrnambool and Hobart. Mary also has experience as medical educator with GP Training Tasmania (GPTT) with a special interest in assessment. She completed her Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education through Flinders University and has attended RACGP learning modules on AKT and KFP question writing and is also an OSCE examiner. Mary believes strongly in the necessity of learning clinical reasoning for exam success and, most importantly, for quality patient care.
Dr Kristen FitzGerald
Dr Kristen FitzGerald
Dr FitzGerald delights in leading, educating and mentoring the next generation of skilled, caring and responsive medical practitioners. She is Director of Education & Training at General Practice Training Tasmania (GPTT) and holds the posts of Clinical Senior Lecturer in Rural Health at the University of Tasmania. Kristen is also a member of the Medical Board of Australia's Tasmanian chapter and practices as a GP in South Hobart. Kristen has a passion for growing local community wellbeing by highlighting the purpose of training doctors through the lens of applied care, authenticity and responsive skill.
Dr Kaylee Davie
Dr Kaylee Davie
Dr Davie has been working in the exam preparation space for 5 years and has 7 years professional experience as a rural GP. Before her work in general practice, Kaylee was a Medical Educator for 4 years and a Registrar Liaison Officer for 3 years prior to that. Kaylee has a particular interest in emergency and rural medicine, women’s health and education. The only thing she is more passionate about than helping dedicated students prepare for their RACGP exams is being a Mum to her two beautiful boys.
