We are here to help answer your questions.
What happens if I have failed my exam?
Even if you have previously failed an exam, we understand that there are many factors that can contribute to a negative outcome. Don’t give up. To best prepare for a more positive outcome, we encourage you to participate in our program so we can help you develop the skills and techniques you need.
Does HealthTrain guarantee that I will pass my exam?
Whether you pass your exam is ultimately dependent on how much you take on our advice and commit to further preparation outside of the program. HealthTrain is here to help you read, interpret and understand the questions appropriately, as well as how to best structure your study to help you pass your exam. However, no learning institution can guarantee you a pass. We are finding more and more of our participants are achieving great results from the HealthTrain programs. There are other options out there so, and while we feel we offer one of the best, we encourage you to do your research in finding the right program you feel will suit you.
Do you offer refunds if I can’t attend a session?
Unfortunately no refunds will be available if you are unable to attend a session, which is why we recommend you request to transfer into another class if you really can’t keep to your schedule.
What happens if I miss the Masterclass?
We understand that sometimes things can get in the way of your ability to attend at a certain time. Masterclasses are in high demand however, so if you are unable to attend you will need to request to transfer into another class. This will require you to meet certain criteria.
How much time should I spend studying for the mock exams?
You will have 1-2 weeks to complete the mock exams after participating in the Masterclass. You will receive access to our system once you have attended your first Masterclass. We’d suggest you make a study plan and try to spend some time each day applying yourself. Remember you’ll still need to eat, sleep and get on with your daily life.
What are the mock exams for AKT and KFP?
These are practice exams that are a key part of our programs allowing you to put into practice what you have learnt from the Masterclass. The mock exam is designed to simulate the actual RACGP exams. It is an effective tool for receiving valuable feedback on how to develop the skills and knowledge you will need to pass your exam. Through the online platform you access a half-length practice RACGP exam for either the AKT exam (75 questions) or KFP exam (13 cases). These exams allow you to put the skills you learn in the Masterclass into practice. We also use a feedback session to break down each exam as a group, developing your skills and knowledge on exam technique, then in individual feedback meetings tailored personally to you.
Can I remain anonymous in class?
The workshops are designed to be interactive, to get you thinking and building techniques to ultimately tackle the questions on your own in your actual exam. A lot of this interaction can be done anonymously via online polls and whiteboard tools. For example, the AKT program involves 18 questions during the Masterclass that you answer during an anonymous poll, then discuss.
Is there a cap on numbers in each class?
We usually cap our class numbers at 10 to allow for high quality delivery of content and feedback opportunities in our programs. However, class sizes may increase slightly to accommodate the needs of certain participants.
Will the live online course/webinar be as good as a face-to-face session?
When you set aside time for study, you want it to be of the highest quality to give you the best opportunity to achieve what you need in the time you have. Our online webinars are delivered with this in mind, allowing you to participate without having to take out extra time to travel. For busy registrars juggling work, family, training, study and life our online courses are an effective solution for making the most of your precious time. Over the past 10 years we’ve improved and crafted our structured program to build your confidence and give you the key information you need in an informative, interesting way. Our technology allows for a fast, modern interactive experience with high definition screen sharing and audio. And our dedicated team of Medical Educators are friendly and highly knowledgeable in how to help you study for your RACGP exams.
Do I need any special technical equipment for the online learning?
A headset with microphone is required to participate in ZOOM meeting discussions, this limits any feedback in the audio. It’s common for newer phones to come with a headphone/mic combination and these are fine. If you don’t have access to one of these, a headset with attached microphone will need to be purchased. Whilst not essential, you may wish to have a webcam for your ZOOM sessions. A desktop or laptop with a web browser is essential. The HealthTrain Online mock exams and Q&A bank are designed to replicate the RACGP exam environment, as such they are designed for a full computer interface. We advise against tablets or smart phones as they may not be able to display the mock exams and Q&A bank correctly.
What preparation do I need to do for the course?
We’ll provide you with some pre-reading materials and suggested resources to help you prepare. Although we find the best preparation is an open mind and a good appetite for learning.
